Primary Care Genetics is a private genetics practice run by a specialist clinical geneticist, Dr Ken Maclean.

Ken has extensive experience in clinical genetics including general genetics, prenatal, paediatric and adult genetic disorders, cancer genetics, predictive and diagnostic genetic testing and interpretation of genetic testing. He is both a qualified clinical geneticist and a paediatrician. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Association of Clinical Geneticists.

Ken has additional training, knowledge and skills in developmental, cellular and molecular biology, embryology, IVF genetics, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and DNA testing. He takes an active role in teaching undergraduate medical students
and post-graduate specialist trainees.

Ken is an accredited specialist with Sydney IVF.

He has links with DNA Labs, Sydney Genetics and GTG.

A primary focus of the practice is the emerging application of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, its utility and efficacy, clinical ethics and community awareness of PGD in the prevention of genetic disorders.  A core goal is providing ready access to DNA  testing and expert advice, to members of the public.
